What is it?
It is a comprehensive 3 month nutrition and exercise program specifically tailored for each participant. The challenge can be designed to accommodate two teams that compete against each other or can be run simply for individuals to compete against themselves. The team version of the program demands more timing compliance upfront in regard to paper work, assessment etc. to ensure all participants start at the same time.
Program Benefits
There are numerous resources and studies that have been done to show that programs of this nature contribute to more productivity and less sick days for their employees. Exercise and proper nutrition has also been shown to help to alleviate stress. In the current economic environment, this is becoming more challenging. As well, with many companies downsizing, there is little to spend in the way of employee incentive programs. This program is cost effective and guarantees outcomes.
How does it work?
Each participant meets with Mary Phaneuf, the founder of Fit to Lead, for a one hour consultation regarding lifestyle, current food likes and dislikes and current fitness status. They then undergo a fitness assessment and a goal setting process than can be done exclusively by Mary or in conjunction with the manager of the Fitness Centre.
Once all participants have completed their fitness assessment, had their 1 hour consultation, established clear goals, signed their health waiver and have paid half of the fee upfront they will receive their personalized exercise and nutrition program and begin their program. They will met with Mary for 1 hour at the mid way point of their program to make any program adjustments necessary as well as to check their progress.
All participants will receive bi-weekly newsletters regarding health, nutrition and motivation and fitness. They will also have access to Mary via e-mail for 3 e-mail consults.
Mary will also come in once per week to do lower body training in a group fitness format.
Mary will also come in once very two weeks for a lunch and learn/feedback/motivation session will all participants.

Program Cost
The cost per participant for the complete package above is $500. The cost can be negotiated based on the needs of the organization.
There are several studies that show that people are more motivated by programs they pay for as they perceive them to have more value. There is also research that supports participant adherence based on the company providing financial incentives to employees. Based on this research the financial model recommended is that the employee pays 50% up front and the employer pays the balance of $250 per employee PROVIDED THEY REACH THEIR GOALS.
